Tile & Cladding Systems
60x120 Porcelain Installation System
Shows flexible adhesive, back-buttering, levelling and the right grout products for 60 × 120 cm porcelain claddings in a single system.
System summary
- Flat and load-bearing surface
- S1 adhesive
- back-buttering
- KR-ST levelling
- grout suited to the area of use.
Full contact and flexibility for large-format porcelain
60 × 120 cm porcelain tiles require a flatter substrate and more controlled bonding than standard small-format ceramic tiles. S1-class KraftBau adhesives are used together with back-buttering and levelling equipment to reduce the risk of voids beneath the cladding.
System advantages
- Grey and white S1 adhesive options
- High contact ratio through back-buttering
- Controlled surface flatness with clips and wedges
- Three grout alternatives for dry, wet and technical areas
Application
How does the system work?
Steps are listed in application order. For consumption, layer thickness and waiting times, refer to the products' current technical data sheets (TDS).
-
Step 1: Create a flat and sound surface
The substrate must be load-bearing, clean and as flat as the large-format cladding requires. Any necessary levelling work must be completed in advance.
-
Step 2: Select the S1 adhesive
Use KR-8000 or KR-805 for the grey system; KR-8500 or KR-809 for light-coloured tiles.
-
Step 3: Apply with back-buttering
Spread the adhesive on the substrate with a suitable notched trowel; also apply a thin contact layer to the back of the tile to support full contact.
-
Step 4: Use the levelling equipment
Control the level difference between tile surfaces during installation with KR-ST clips and wedges.
-
Step 5: Finish with the right grout
Use KR-200 in dry areas, KR-250 in wet areas and KR-300 under technical or high chemical loads.
Products
Recommended KraftBau products
KR-8000 or KR-8500 is used in the main system; KR-805 and KR-809 are the S1 alternatives. Levelling is done with KR-ST products. Grout selection is shown as KR-200, KR-250 or KR-300 depending on whether the area is dry, wet or subject to technical/chemical loads.
