A layered solution for rain, temperature changes and movement
On balconies and terraces, it is not only the top cladding that matters; slope, drain, threshold, waterproofing, flexible adhesive and outdoor grout work together. The system offers the standard fully flexible option and the super flexible option for higher expected movement as separate packages.

Application
How does the system work?
Steps are listed in application order. For consumption, layer thickness and waiting times, refer to the products' current technical data sheets (TDS).

Step 1: Prepare the slope and the surface
Create the slope that carries rainwater to the drain; make the surface clean, sound and ready for waterproofing.

Step 2: Resolve corners, drains and thresholds
Use KR-JTK detail products to make wall-floor junctions, the area around drains, thresholds and critical transitions part of the system.

Step 3: Select the waterproofing performance
Use KR-5100/5150 + -2 in the main system; for higher expected movement, use the KR-5100/5150 + -3 super flexible system.

Step 4: Install the cladding with the S1 adhesive
Install the tiles with KR-8000 in the grey system or KR-8500 for light-coloured tiles, and ensure full contact for large formats.

Step 5: Complete the outdoor grout
Use KR-250 in the main system; in special areas with technical or high chemical loads, refer to KR-300.

The main waterproofing system is KR-5100/5150 + the relevant -2 component. For higher expected movement, the -3 super flexible system is shown. The cladding is completed with KR-8000 or KR-8500 and the outdoor grout with KR-250.
