Layers of four different industrial epoxy flooring systems

Flooring & Industrial Systems

Industrial Epoxy Flooring Systems

Shows four fixed systems for industrial and commercial floors: self-levelling, anti-slip, epoxy paint or UV-protective PU topcoat, all over a common epoxy primer.

System summary

  1. Concrete surface and moisture check
  2. mechanical preparation
  3. KR-EPA-105
  4. selected epoxy system
  5. KR-PUB-506 if required
  6. curing and opening to use.

Four fixed flooring systems separated by service load

On industrial floors, no single coating meets every service condition. After surface preparation and the common KR-EPA-105 primer layer, one of the following systems is selected: smooth self-levelling, anti-slip, epoxy paint or UV-resistant aliphatic PU-protected.

System advantages

  • Common KR-EPA-105 primer layer
  • Clear system cards for four different end-use needs
  • Anti-slip and smooth surface options
  • Aliphatic PU topcoat alternative for UV and colour stability

Application

How does the system work?

Steps are listed in application order. For consumption, layer thickness and waiting times, refer to the products' current technical data sheets (TDS).

  1. Step 1: Measure and prepare the concrete

Check the concrete's strength, moisture, cracks and contamination. Create a sound, open-pored surface using a suitable mechanical method.

  2. Step 2: Apply the common epoxy primer

Apply KR-EPA-105 TECHNO KRAFT 2K EPOXY PRIMER before the selected system.

  3. Step 3: Select the system according to service load

Choose the appropriate one of the four fixed cards: smooth self-levelling, anti-slip, epoxy paint or UV-protective PU topcoat.

  4. Step 4: Apply the layers in the fixed order

Do not change the product order; follow each product's current technical data sheet for mixing, waiting times and coat thicknesses.

  5. Step 5: Open to use under control after curing

The coating must not be opened to traffic or chemical load before it has gained the required mechanical and chemical resistance.

System options

This page has 4 fixed system options

Each option is a complete whole with its own products; products from different options are not combined in a single system.

System 1

Self-Levelling Epoxy Floor

In areas requiring a smooth, seamless, self-levelling epoxy surface, KR-EPS-202 is applied over the common KR-EPA-105 primer.

When to use it?

Used when a smooth, seamless and professional self-levelling epoxy finish is required.

Fixed system order

  1. Mechanically prepared concrete
  2. KR-EPA-105
  3. KR-EPS-202
  4. curing and opening to use

Coating thickness, concrete moisture and service load are verified on a project-specific basis.

System 2

Anti-Slip Epoxy Floor

In industrial areas where the aim is to reduce the risk of slipping, KR-EPB-302 is applied over KR-EPA-105.

When to use it?

Considered in areas where surface texture and slip resistance matter more than a smooth surface.

Fixed system order

  1. Mechanically prepared concrete
  2. KR-EPA-105
  3. KR-EPB-302
  4. curing and opening to use

The required degree of slip resistance and the cleaning method are determined according to the project's use.

System 3

Epoxy Paint Floor System

On surfaces requiring a smooth, easy-to-clean epoxy paint finish, KR-EPB-402 is applied over KR-EPA-105.

When to use it?

Considered on industrial or commercial floors where an epoxy paint system is preferred over self-levelling.

Fixed system order

  1. Mechanically prepared concrete
  2. KR-EPA-105
  3. KR-EPB-402
  4. curing and opening to use

The number of coats, consumption and chemical load conditions are verified against the current technical data sheet and project requirements.

System 4

UV-Protected Epoxy + PU Topcoat

On surfaces requiring UV resistance and colour stability, the epoxy primer and main coating are protected with the aliphatic KR-PUB-506 topcoat.

When to use it?

Considered in areas where the epoxy system will be exposed to UV and the aim is to reduce the risk of yellowing.

Fixed system order

  1. Mechanically prepared concrete
  2. KR-EPA-105
  3. KR-EPB-402
  4. KR-PUB-506
