AAC block and pumice block/brick masonry mortar applications

Wall, Plaster & Masonry Systems

AAC Block, Pumice Block and Brick Masonry Mortar Systems

Shows two separate KraftBau ready-mix masonry mortar systems as fixed cards for laying AAC blocks and pumice blocks or bricks.

System summary

  1. Block type and first course check
  2. surface cleaning
  3. KR-120 or KR-121
  4. alignment, joint and curing check.

Build neat, sound walls with the mortar suited to the block type

The thin-bed application of AAC blocks and the masonry needs of pumice blocks and bricks are not the same. This page presents KR-120 AAC block masonry mortar and KR-121 pumice block and brick masonry mortar as two separate fixed systems.

System advantages

  • Clear product distinction by block type
  • Thin-bed system for AAC blocks
  • Separate ready-mix masonry mortar for pumice blocks and bricks

Application

How does the system work?

Steps are listed in application order. For consumption, layer thickness and waiting times, refer to the products' current technical data sheets (TDS).

  1. Step 1: Determine the block type and the first course

Select the AAC block or pumice block/brick system; check the load-bearing substrate and the first course level before application.

  2. Step 2: Prepare the block surfaces

Clean off dust, debris and any residues that reduce adhesion; set aside damaged blocks or blocks with distorted geometry.

  3. Step 3: Apply the right masonry mortar

Use KR-120 for AAC blocks and KR-121 for pumice blocks and bricks.

  4. Step 4: Check the alignment, joints and curing

Check the courses horizontally and vertically; complete the mortar beds and curing conditions according to the product technical information.

System options

This page has 2 fixed system options
