In foundation and retaining wall waterproofing, surface preparation, cold joints, expansion joints, membrane, protection and drainage must be planned together. This page presents five fixed solutions on separate cards, from the practical one-component system to the heavy-duty and highly elastic Bitu-PU option.

Application

How does the system work?

Steps are listed in application order. For consumption, layer thickness and waiting times, refer to the products' current technical data sheets (TDS).

  1. Step 1: Prepare the concrete surface

    Remove form oil, dust, loose parts and any residues that reduce adhesion; complete the repair of voids and segregation.

  2. Step 2: Resolve the cold and movement joints

    Use KR-JTK-500 at cold joints and the relevant KR-JTK FPO tape products at movement joints, in accordance with the project detail.

  3. Step 3: Apply the system's primer

    Use KR-BK-102 in the bitumen-rubber systems and KR-PUA-105 in the Bitu-PU system.

  4. Step 4: Apply the selected membrane in the fixed system order

    Of the KR-BK-1010, KR-BK-2010, KR-BK-2020, KR-BK-2050 or KR-PUY-305 products, use only the membrane on the selected system card.

  5. Step 5: Complete the protection and drainage

    Secure the waterproofing against mechanical damage with a protection board, form the drainage layer and carry out the backfill under control.

Practical One-Component Bitumen System

The fixed system using KR-BK-1010 over KR-BK-102 on foundation and retaining wall surfaces where a practical one-component application is required.

When to use it?

Considered in applications where a one-component bitumen-rubber solution is suited to the project's water load and surface conditions.
